Strengthening Health and Wellbeing for Our District

The purchase of the Barraud Street Medical premises marks a significant milestone for Rangitāne o Tamaki nui‑ā‑Rua. This acquisition is more than a property transaction — it is a commitment to the long-term well-being of our people and our community.

For generations, our iwi has upheld the responsibility of caring for our whenua, our whānau, and our future. Access to reliable, culturally grounded medical services is a cornerstone of that responsibility. By securing this site, we are taking proactive steps to ensure essential health services remain available, accessible, and responsive to our district's needs.

Our vision is to create a place where:

  • Whānau can access quality medical care close to home.

  • Services reflect our values, our culture, and our aspirations.

  • Partnerships with health providers strengthen outcomes for all.

  • Future generations benefit from sustainable, iwi-led investment in wellbeing.

Over time, this site has the potential to become a hub for integrated health services — a place where clinical care, preventative health, rongoā Māori, and community support can work together to uplift the hauora of our people.
